As an endocrinopathy,hyperthyroidism,or"Jia Kang"for short in Chinese,is a commonly encountered disease.And hyperthyroidism corresponds to"Ying Bing"in TCM. In these years ,hyperthyrodism has an increasing incidence and the age of onset becomes younger. the method of the combination of TCM with Western medicine is used more and more commomly in treating the disease.And the predominance of this method is growing with each passing day .100 prescriptions of Chinese crude drug used in the last 10 years were chosen from Full-text data base of Chinese Periodical, whose rule was analyzed and summaried. The result of the analyses indicates that the main efficiency of the high rate traditional Chinese medicine are: softening hard lumps and dispel nodes,supplementing qi and nourish yin,getting rid of fever,regulating vital energy and promoting blood flow.Some of them could decrease T3 and T4 and some of them could accommodate immunifaction.The statistics indicate that the main internal organs infested in hyperthyroidism are liver,spleen and heart. The main types of the syndromes are deficiency of both vital energy and yin,stagnation of vital energy and blood stasis,deficiency of yin of both the heart and liver and deficiency of yin of both the heart and kindey. So softening hard lumps and dispelling nodes,supplementing qi and nourishing yin,getting rid of fever,regulating vital energy and promoting blood flow are the best ways of treating hyperthyroidism.And we can choose some traditional Chinese medicine with the effency of decreasing T3 and T4 and accommodating immunifaction.The statistics gives an important evidence of differentiation of symptoms and signs and has important significance in using traditional Chinese medicine clinically.
