Purpose:Hyperthyroidism patients were retrospectively analyzed clinical characteristics, discusses application of xiaoyao powder treatment in patients with hyperthyroidism clinical primary symptom relief time effect and the change of thyroid function and advantages.Material and method:Statistics from January 2010 to December 2010,liaoning university of traditional Chinese medicine affiliated hospital endocrine clinic medical records of hyperthyroidism patients treated, according to classify main symptoms, the patient will be the same whether patients with primary symptom of oral Chinese medicine into combine traditional Chinese and western medicine group and western medicine, combining Chinese and western medicine group of patients should be a methimidazole and traditional Chinese medicine compound one treatment, western medicine group as simply a methimidazole therapy,Chinese medicine compound composition and dosage according to the results of four patients with clinical or add and subtract changes,a methimidazole oral dose according to changes in thyroid levels adjustment,FT4,FT3 gradually reduced to discontinuation after returning to normal.A total of 254 patients were included in the analysis of the statistical diagnosis in patients with age, sex, family history of thyroid disease, patients, treatment after 3 months we to begin with,as well as the time needed for symptoms, compared with patients combine traditional Chinese and western medicine group and western medicine group of symptoms of time, the differences between the level of thyroid function changes.SPSS 17.0 software was used to statistical analysis, conform to the normal distribution of mean differences between the two groups compared with the independent sample t-test to compare,do not accord with normal distribution distribution not neat or variance in the Mann-Whitney rank and inspection, qualitative data is described with chi-square.Results: 1.General situation: in patients with a total of 254 cases, including 43 cases(16.9%),men with female patients 211 cases(83.1%),the male to female ratio(1:4.92),the average diagnostic age was(37.42±12.63)(10 ~ 72 years old). The patients with hyperthyroidism were treated with heart palpitation 112 cases(44.1%),anemic 49 cases(19.3%),and 18 cases(7.1%),with the fear of heat and sweating 15 cases(5.9%).2.Hyperthyroidism patients symptoms disappear time comparison: with palpitation as the primary symptom of traditional Chinese medicine group of symptoms in patients with time is(2.38±1.56)for weeks, for an average western medicine group(4.32±2.43)weeks,two groups of comparison, combining Chinese and western medicine group of symptoms faster better, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01);In patients with anemic symptoms, the symptom relief time was(3.58±1.96)in the combination of Chinese and western medicine, and the time of remission of western medicine group was(7.62±1.71),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Compared with western medicine group, emaciation was more effective than western medicine group, and the average time required was(8.56±4.04)week vs(16.33±5.75),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Patients with heart palpitations had the shortest duration of symptom relief compared with other major patients, and the time required for emaciation was the longest(P<0.01).3.Comparison of thyroid function in patients with different main diseases: the level of FT3 was significantly higher in patients with emaciation than in patients with fatigue, palpitation, and hyperhidrosis(all P<0.05).All patients treated with FT3 and FT4 were significantly lower than before treatment, and TSH significantly increased(P <0.01).4.Comparison of thyroid function in the same main disease: the patients with emaciation had the highest level of pre-treatment,and the TSH in the combination group of Chinese and western medicine was more significant than that in the western medicine group(P<0.05).5.Relationship between the main disease and thyroid antibody: the proportion of thyroid antibody negative and positive in patients with various main diseases is roughly the same, and the difference of thyroid antibody between different main diseases is not statistically significant(P>0.05).6.Adverse reactions: the incidence of adverse reactions in patients in the combined Chinese and western medicine group after treatment was lower than that in the western medicine group, but the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion: 1.Compared with western medicine alone, combined treatment with Chinese and western medicine can improve thyroid function and significantly speed up the clinical symptom relief rate of hyperthyroidism patients.2.Changes in thyroid function FT3 and FT4 levels in hyperthyroidism patients may be related to the main disease category.
