Correlative Research of Adiponectin and Patients with cardiac syndrome XObjective:Cardiac syndrome X(CSX)is characterised by typical angina but normal coronary arteries angiograms. Nowadays, the exact mechanism of this clinical syndrome remains unclear. CSX may result from reduction of coronary flow reserve, vascular endothelial dysfunction, inflammation, insulin resistance, oestrogen deficiency, nerver disfunction and psychoneurosis. Adiponectin (APN), an adipocyte-secreted hormone, may play an important role in insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, several malignancies, and cardiovascular disease in humans. Circulating levels of adiponectin are lower in patients with type 2 diabetes, the metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease. Several reports demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects, antiartherosclerosis, insulin sensitization, cardia conservation of adiponectin and the negative correlation between adiponectin and markers of inflammation. This article tries to explore the role of adiponectin in pathogenesy of cardiac syndrome X.Methods:The serum concentrations of Adiponectin were detected by using ELISA. Adiponectin were measured in 22 Patients with CSX and 18 control subjects. Results:Plasma adiponectin level was significantly lower in CSX patients than in controls (9.17±1.98vs11.32±2.15mg/ L , respectively; P < 0.01) .Conclusion:Plasma adiponectin level was significantly lower in CSX patients than in controls. The adiponectin may play a role in the pathogenesy of cardiac syndrome X.
