Objective:To investigate the variation of serum adiponectin in patients with unstable angina(UA) and explore the correlation between the levels of adiponectin (ADP)and c-reactive protein (CRP). This may help to know the role of adiponectin in the pathogenesis of UA , the change of the adiponectin may contribute to prevetion, diagnosis and therapy in clinic.:serum apidonectin and CRP were measured by Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)in 36 patients with UA, and compared with 20 healthy subjects. Fasting plasma glucose (FPG),total cholesterol(TC),and triglyceride(TG) were measured at the same time.:serum concentration of adidonectin in patients with UA were significantly lower than in the normals (p<0.01).Serum CRP were significantly elevated in patients with UA(p<0.01) .Serum concentrations of adiponctin correlated negatively with FPG (r=0.378,p=0.023),TG(r=,p< r=-0.393,p=0.01) ,LDL(r=-0.429,p=0.009)and CRP(r=-0.372,p=0.026) .Multiple linear regression show that LDL is independently correlated with the concentration of adiponectin level in patients with UA.:the serum adiponectin levels were significantly decrease in patients with UA, this decrease may be closely related to the genesis and progress of UA. The variation of serum adiponectin in patients with UA reflect the stability of the atherosclerotic lesion.
