ObjectiveThe objective of this paper is to provide a scientific basis for the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking" Acupuncture treatment with RA and to clarify the effectiveness of this method in behalf of clinical promotion by observing the therapy function of the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking" Acupuncture treatment with rheumatoid arthritis patients,and comprehensively evaluating the curative effect through its modulation effect on some indicators,Such as rheumatoid factor(RF),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reactive protein(CRP),immune globulin,complement,and so on.MethodThe method of clinical research is as follows.Choose 40 patients meeting the diagnostic criteria for RA in the acupuncture wards of Wuhan Chinese Medicine Hospital in 2007 and divide them into the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking " Acupuncture treatment group and the ordinary acupuncture treatment group at random in accordance with the succession of being in hospital.For the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking" Acupuncture treatment group,Guanyuan point and bilateral Zusanli points are adopted as the main points all along;according to different diseases,we can use conventional method to choose points,such as the local point selection,the point selection along meridian,dialectic point selection,and so on.For the ordinary acupuncture treatment group,we only use conventional method to choose points.The daily treatment is only once and 5 times is a period of treatment.After the prior period,rest two days,continue the next period and complete 3 periods in all.The following indicators should be examined before the treatment and after the whole treatment:RF,ESR,CRP,IgA,IgM,IgG,C3,C4 and symptoms integral.Results1.The comparison of symptom integral:the symptom integral of the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking" Acupuncture treatment group has significant difference in comparison with the ordinary acupuncture treatment group (P＜0.05),while the former improvement of symptom integral is better than the latter with extremely significant difference(P＜0.01).2.The comparison of laboratory indicates:before the treatment,each indicate of the two groups has no significant difference;the indicates of each group before the treatment have significant difference(P＜0.05)in comparison with the indicates of each group after the treatment,that is,the indicates after the treatment are smaller; after the treatment,the indicates of the two groups have significant difference (P＜0.05),that is,the indicates of RF,ESR,IgG of the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking" Acupuncture treatment group are smaller than the indicates of the ordinary acupuncture treatment group.In consequence,both treatment methods are able to distinctly improve the laboratory indicates,but the function of the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking" Acupuncture treatment remarkably excels that of the ordinary acupuncture treatment in the aspect of reducing the indicates of RF,ESR,and IgG.3.The comparison of comprehensive curative effect:the treatment effectiveness of the two groups is 100%with no significant difference(P＞0.05).Conclusion Both the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking" Acupuncture treatment group and the ordinary acupuncture treatment group have got notable curative effect in the treatment of RA with the reduction of symptom integral and every laboratory examination indicate except C₄ indicate.Nevertheless,the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking" Acupuncture treatment group has been achieved greater reduction of the indicates of RF,ESR,and IgG than the ordinary acupuncture treatment group with an extremely significant difference(P＜0.01).As the conclusion,the "Two-Reinforcing and One-Unblocking" Acupuncture is proved to be an ideal method for the treatment of RA.
