Deep Puncture Huantiao The Literature Of The Treatment Of Lumbar Disc Herniation, Low Back Pain

OBJECTIVE To assess the efficacy and safety of acupuncturing deeply on the Huantiao (GB30) in patients with low back pain of LDH.METHODS Databases both inside and outside China were searched according to search strategy made in advance. Data of studies accordant to the inclusion criteria were extracted and analyzed with RevMan4.3 software.REASULTS Eight randomized controlled trials met the inclusion criteria were included. Three trails were done with comparison of acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) deeply and superficially. One trail was done with comparison of electro-acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) deeply and superficially. One trail was done with comparison of electro-acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) deeply and superficially combined with acupoint injection. One trail was done with comparison of electro-acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) deeply, electro-acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) and acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) deeply. One trail was done with comparison of electro-acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) deely and comprehensive treatment of electro-acupuncture and massage. One trail was done with comparison of acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) and oral medication (somedon 1#, bid po) .Three trails was assessed with TCM scoring, with total OR 3.42 (95%CI 1.44 to 8.11),which suggests that the effiency of acupuncture Huantiao (GB30) deeply is better than the control group(acupuncture superficially)One trail was assessed with VAS scoring, with WMD 1.12(95%CI 0.66 to 1.58); one trail was assessed with lumbar-leg pain scoring, difference of symptom scoring: treatment group and control group I, WMD -0.09(95%CI -1.00 to 0.82), treatment group and control group II, WMD 1.38(95%CI 0.23 to 2.53). It indicates that acupuncture Huantiao(GB30)deeply can release the lumbar-leg pain of subjects with LDH. One trail was assessed with EMG, which indicates that acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) deeply has the innocent regulation on nerves injure due to LDH. Between treatment group and control group I, I OR 1.73(95%CI 0.27 to 11.04), between treatment group and contrail group II, OR 1.91(95%CI 0.30 to 12.22). No side effect was mentioned in these trails.CONCULSIONS Acupuncture Huantiao(GB30) can improve the low back pain and lumbar function, which has the same effect as common acupuncture and medication, and even much better than it. It shows the safety of deep acupuncture of Huantiao(GB30)on lumbar-leg pain due to LDH in recent researches. More researches with High grade evidence are needed in the future.
