Objective:Observing the curative effect of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Ranjiansanjie capsule on the Graves disease (GD), appraising its treatment and advantage, probe into its function at the same time, offer the theoretical foundation for the clinical practice.Methods:1 Clinical data 90 patients of GD from Xiangfan Affiliated Hospital of Hubei college of traditional Chinese medicine, accordding with the diagnostic standard of Western medicine and Tanyuhuahuo type as well. All of them were divided into two groups at random according to the treating order: the treatment group and the control group. There were 48 patients in treatment group and 42 patients in control group. The cases of two groups do not have obvious difference (P＞0.05) to deal with statistics at sex, age, course of disease and condition degree. Two groups were comparative.2 Medical usages The treatment group was treated with Ranjiansanjie capsule and control group was treated with Thiamazole. The treatment time was composed of 12 months.3 Curative effect observation The survey of the evaluation index of the security, TCM symptoms mark of GD, observation on the medicine's bad reaction, free triiodothyronine(FT3), free thyroxine(FT4), thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH), thyroidal globulin antibody(TGA) and anti-microsomial antibodies to thyroglobulin (TGM) were examined after and before the treatment. Take the regular visit quarterly and the subsequent visit a year.Result:1 Total curative effect Treatment group: 12 cases were clinical control, 21 cases were significant control, 10 cases were effective, 13 cases were invalid, the total effective rate was 72.92%; control group: 8cases were clinical control, 10 cases were significant control, 12 cases were effective, 12 cases were invalid, the total effective rate was 71.43%. There is no significant difference on the total effective rate between the two groups through statistical analysis (P＞0.05).2 TCM symptoms The TCM symptoms of treatment group were improved obviously (P＜0.01 or P＜0.05). There was remarkable difference of the symptoms (such as vexed, insomnia, much sweats, etc.) between two groups.3 Thyroid volume There is not a significant difference between the two groups before and after the treating (P＞0.05). But the thyroid was obviously narrowed compared before and after treating each group (P＜0.05).4 Eyes evidence The eyes evidence was improved obviously in treatment group (P＜0.05), but not in control group (P＞0.05). There is extraordinary significance difference after treating between two groups (P＜0.01).5 Serum indexes The value of FT₃, FT₄ in two groups obviously dropped after treating (P＜0.01), and TSH obviously rose as well (P＜0.05). There is not a significance difference between two groups (P＞0.05). The value of TGA, TMA dropped to some extent after treating compared with before in two groups, but the difference is remarkable to the treatment group (P＜0.05), not to the control group (P＞0.05).6 The toxicity and the side-effect There is no toxicity and side-effect in treatment group. There were 4 leukocyte reduce, 7 medicine rash, 6 liver function damage. The toxicity and the side-effect in treatment group is obviously less than that in the control group (P＜0.05).7 The recurring rate During the subsequent visit and regular visits, 10 examples recurred in treatment group, among them 4 examples recurred within half a year; the control group has 22 examples to recur, among them 12 Examples recurred within hail a year. The recurring rate of the treatment group is obviously smaller than the control group's.Conc]usion:1 The curative effect that Ruanjiansanjie capsule treats Graves disease is equal to Western medicine.2 Ruanjiansanjie capsule is super in improving patient's high suppression, dashing forward the eyes symptom, can obviously lighten the patient's agony.3 Ruanjiansanjie capsule studies can get the result of the serum index of thyroid function, as the Western medicine treat GD, to use separately.4 Ruanjiansanjie capsule has advantages in improving patient's immune function.5 Ruanjiansanjie capsule has no toxicity and side-effect, can improve living quality, and relieve GD patients from suffering.6 The recurring rate of Ruanjiansanjie capsule is relative]y low, so its long-term curative effect is better.
