OBJECTIVE: to study the therapeutic effect and safety evaluation ofLEEP(Loop electrosurgical excision procedure) and the reforming operation intreatment of chronic cervicitis, also study the feasibility of it's application in makingdiagnosis and giving treatment on chronic cervicitis that incorporation with suspiciousof CIN(cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia). METHODS: 244 cases with cervicallesion diagnosed by colposcopy and cytology and treated by LEEP and the reformingoperation, were given retrospective analysis according to the therapeutic effect andpathological result by using own control method. RESULTS: By postoperativepathological examination it's appeared 221 cases of chronic cervicitis; 23 cases of CIN,in which 13cases of CINⅠ, 7 cases of CINⅡ, 3 cases of CINⅢ.211 cases were totallyin accordance with preoperative diagnosis. All cases were followed-up one month afteroperation, 241cases were cured while another 3 cases were improved. Cure rate ofonce is 98.77%, total effective rate is 100%. 2 of the 3 cases who were improvedbefore were cured after two months, and another 1 case was cured after 3 months. Norecurrence cases have been found during the next 3, 6, 9 months' followed-up.CONCLUSION: LEEP and the reforming operation is simple, economic, andeffectiveness, it is a safe method in treating chronic cervicitis. To the cases ofsuspicious of CIN, it can reduce the rate of missed diagnosis, as it can provide integritytissue specimen, which accordingly ascertain pathologic diagnosis, and thus it plays ansignificant role in reducing the cases that might be proceeded to cervical cancer. Cervixcan be recovered as smooth as origin 6 to 8 weeks after operation, and the patients canalso have chances be pregnant afterwards.
