Objective 1%Atropine in the short-term treatment of juvenile myopia can remove accommodation spasm.For pseudomyopia,it can vanish diopter;for mixed myopia,it can lessen diopter.But the clinical efficiency can not preserve.It can restrain the development of myopia and remove accommodation spasm in the long-term treatment,but it had any sideeffect.This paper is to summarize the clinical efficience of 1%atropine in the regular and repetatus treatment of juvenile myopia.Methods We collected the patients of myopia 60 cases whose conditions were in line with our standard from 2005.1 to 2006.1 in Dept of Ophthalmology Second Clinic Medical College, Shanxi Medical University and Shanxi Fenyang Hospital.60 patients with myopia were randomly divided into two groups.One was treated with 1%atropine,the other was treated with nothing.Observe the changes of diopter in a year and correlation in the clinical efficiency of 1%atropine in the treatment of adolescent myopia with pretherapeutic diopter and ages.Results There was significant difference between the two groups in the changes of diopter in a year(P<0.05).For pseudomyopia,mixed myopia and true myopia,there was significant difference between two groups in the increase value of diopter in a year(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between male patients and female patients in the changes of diopter in a year(P>0.05).There was positive linear correction in the changes of diopter in the treatment of adolescent myopia with pretherapeutic diopter(P<0.05),though there was no correlation with age(P>0.05).Conclusions 1 1%atropine was effective for juvenile myopia.For pseudomyopia,mixed myopia and true myopia,it all can restrain the development of disease.2 There was positive linear correlation in the clinical efficiency of 1%atropine in the treatment of adolescent myopia with pretherapeutic diopter,though there was no correlation with age.
