Knife Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Efficacy

Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) belongs to osteoarthritis. KOA is a kind of chronic progressing arthrosis disease, which is also called knee hyperplasia arthritis, retrogressive arthritis, hypertrophic arthritis, retrogressive osteoarthrosis. Its main clinical menifetation is progressing chronic arthragia, rigidity, intumescince accompanied with movement restriction, which can lead to dysfunction of joint, even deformity in sivere cases. It's the main reason of elders'joint ache and disability. There are a lot of factors arousing KOA, such as age, sexuality, obesity, injury and nutriment and so on. The recent research find that it is also have relations with elevation of inner pressure, metal protease, cytokine, growth factor, freeradicle, autommunity, hyaluronic acid. The KOA is usually adscripted to arthromyodynia or rheumatism involving bone, usually identified as defiency of the liver and kidney larding with kinds of the sthenia of evil, or deficiency of qi and blood larding with cold and phlegm. Treating it with taking Chinese medicine, washing, acupuncture, massage or complex treatment, can get curative effect.Clinical research:Purpose: To observe the curative effect of acupotome in treating KOA and probe into its mechamism.Method: Divide all the 60 patients into treatment group and controlling group, who are fitted to the diagnosis and inspiring criterion. In treatment group there are 30 cases, of which male 11 cases, female 19 cases. In the research 3 cases was lost .There are 27 cases in controlling group, male 10 cases, female 17 cases. The treatment group is treated with acupotome, once a week, the controlling group treated with massage, five times a week, it is all conducted by the special person.Result: According to the KSS, from the scores of knee joint, the average scores of treatment group were 41.1 before thrapy, and 73.0 after therapy, of which superior 8 cases, good 13 cases, ordinary 4 cases, no difference 5 cases, while controlling group 43.1 before therapy, 56.9 after therapy, superior 1 case, good 4 cases, ordinary 10 cases, no difference 12 cases. The curative effect of treatment group is obviously much better than controlling group(P=0.001<0.01). From the function of knee joint, the average scores of treatment group were 39.0 before thrapy, and 70.0 after therapy, of which superior 4 cases, good 13 cases, ordinary 11 cases, no difference 2 cases, while controlling group 37.1 before therapy, 49.0 after therapy, superior 0 case, good 6 cases, ordinary 7 cases, no difference 14 cases. The curative effect of treatment group shows much better than controlling group, by rank test , P=0.001<0.01Conclusion: The main reason that results in the symptom and physica sign of KOA is the acctetion, cicatrix, contracture caused by the chronic peripheral soft tissre injury. Using acupotome to relieve adhesion, erase cicatrix, eliminate contracture and the high pressure point, then correct genu varum and eversional deformity gradually by manuduction, so that get back to the balance of biomechanics, which relieve the pain and repair the knee function quickly. Treating KOA with acupotome has the adavantages of good effect,simple operation and shrot treating time.It's a good treating method to extend.
