Objective: To analyze the clinical and pathological features of anal papilla,and provide theories for the coming on,developing, diagnosing and clinical treating of anal papilla.Methods: Clinical pathologic analysis was performed in 23 patients with hypertrophy of anal papilla (41 pellets). The main symptoms ,sites of origin ,number and pathologic aspects was analysed , compared with inner piles(25pellets ) and rectal polypse.Results: Anal papilla mainly divides into the flat triangle group and taper group, there ;are notable differences in the degree of hyperplasia of epithelium and inflammatory infiltration (the degree of hypertrophy : flat triangle group 1.32±0.58, taper group 2.06±1.11,P <0.05;the degree of lymphocyte infiltration: flat triangle group 2.32±0.95,taper group 3.06±1.11, P <0.05),but no case of atypical hyperplasia was detected . And there is notable difference in hyperplasia of vessels between anal papilla group and inner piles group , accordingly 1.44 ± 0.59,3.24 ± 1.09, p <0.05.Conclusion : The finding of anal papilla is a kind of pathologic abnormality caused by inflammation , and has no tendency of malignancy.
