With the development of many highly improved indirect composite resins, metal-resin bonding restoration was paid more and more attention. Combination of high-strength composite resin with titanium to make fixed or removable partial denture had many advantages. First of all, titanium has excellent biocompatibility, high mechanical strength and low proportion; the second, the potential biological toxicity of non-noble alloys (such as alloys of Co-Cr and Ni-Cr)was avoided; the third, the disadvantage of over-abrasion of antagonization teeth resulted from high rigidity of porcelain was also avoided; the last, metal-resin bonding prostheses was easy to be repaired in mouth. With the further improvement of performance of composite resin and the development of casting titanium technique and bonding technology, titanium-resin bonding prostheses will have extensive future. The main problem of low bonding sthength between titanium and resin has been solved successfully. The Solidex hybrid composite system, a newly developed indirect composite resin, was chosen to be studied in this dissertation. Sand blasting, HF acid etching agent, metal photo primer and post cure heat treatment (PHT) were used to increase the bonding strength of resin-to-titanium effectively. In the experiment, metal bases' effects to the color of samples of resin fused to metal was also studied. Furthermore, the pilot study...
