Objective: The significance of this study is to investigate the expression of Oncogene Her-2,CD44v6,ER and PR in breast cancer, evaluate the respective values in clinical pathological stage and provide effective reference to patient`s prognosis and treatment。Methods: 100 cases of breast cancer without radiotherapy and chemotherapy were investigated in the past two years. All samples were 10% formaldehyde-fixed and paraffin-embedded. All cases are examined by immunohistochemistry method for HER-2,CD44v6,ER and PR expression . The correlation between gene expression and the clinical pathological parameters were analyzed. Results: The correlation between the expression of HER-2,CD44v6,ER and PR and the clinical pathological parameters was found. CD44v6 was expressed in cell membrane and the positive rate was 81%(81/100); Her-2 was expressed in the cell membrane and positive rate was 74% (74/100). Both ER and PR were located in nucleus and the positive rate was 46%(46/100)and 36%(36/100), respectively. There is no statistically significance in the correlation of CD44v6 expression with the age of patients, the size of tumor, the metastasis of axillary lymph nodes and TNM staging (P>0.05). It is statistical significance with the histological type(P<0.05).NO statistical significance was found in the correlation of HER-2 with the age of patients, the size of tumour and TNM staging(P>0.05). HER-2 is significantly related to the metastasis of axillary lymph nodes(P<0.05).NO statistical significance was found in the correlation of ER and PR expression with all the above (P>0.05).Conclusion: This study shows the correlation between the expression of CD44v6 and the types of histology. The expression of CD44v6 is correlated with the malignant progression of breast cancer. At the same time, it shows that the other three elements used to judge the prognosis of breast cancer are not obviously correlated with CD44v6. In summary, CD44v6 can not be regarded as an ideal index in evaluating the prognosis of breast cancer, while HER-2 is correlated with the axillary lymph node metastases and therefore it can be regarded as an index in evaluating the prognosis of breast cancer . The significance of ER and PR testing lies in evaluating the prognosis and helping doctors choose the incretion treatment of breast cancer, and providing effective guidance in designing the clinical therapeutic scheme.
