Chinese Medicine Combined With Laser Treatment Of Retinal Vein Occlusion, Clinical Observations,

Objective:Observed the effecting of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) decoction named YanXueSan(YXS) combined with Argon laser photocoagulation on retinal vein occlusion. Probing the best treatment on retinal vein occlusion and providing the scientific foundation to clinical using of YXS. Method:62 eyes of retinal vein occlusion were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group of 30 eyes were treated by TCM therapy with period differentiation combined with Argon laser photocoagulation(Focal photocoagulation, grid pattern photocoagulation and panretinal photocoagulation). YXS is performed in different period and one course of treatment is 30 days, altogether 3 courses of treatment, cooperating with laser photocoagulation after one week of taking YXS. Focal photocoagulation is completed in 2 or 3 times and panretinal photocoagulation is completed in 4 or 6 times. The interval of laser photocoagulation is 1 or 2 weeks. After taking YXS, every patient have a further consultation every 2 weeks. After 3 months countercheck fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA) and reinforce laser photocoagulation if necessary. The control group of 32 eyes were treated by simply laser photocoagulation. All patients were observed for there months. Changes of visual acuity, fundus and FFA have been examined at therapy around. Results:1.Curative effect: In 3 months of therapy, the treatment group total effective rate of 27 eyes was 90.0% and the control group total effective rate of 19 eyes was 59.4%. Comparing of two groups have significant difference( P <0.01). Indicating the treatment group is better than the control group in curative effect and the treatment group is more efficiency than the control group in curative effect.2.Visual acuity: the treatment group have significant difference( P <0.01) compared with before therapy.
