Objective: To observe the treatment on visual function of spontaneous type 2 diabetes rats model by DGH capsule, and study the therapy mechanism of Chinese medicine.Method: we depart spontaneous type 2 diabetes GK rats which had high blood glucose 6 months into 6 groups, according to different therapy medicine, as control group, DIfrarel group, Doxium group and DGH low-dose group, middle - dose group, high-dose group. We treat these groups 3 months, and examine every group rats common state , blood glucose , and flash electroretinogram at the beginning, 1st month , 2nd month, and 3rd months during theatment.Result: 1. the spontaneous type 2 diabetes GK rats had a characters on increase of delitescence and reduce of amplitude of F-ERG every wave. DGH capsule can improve these abnormal changes. It can raise amplitude and shorten delitescence in different degree. 2. the GK rats had a change in common state and ethology index. Their feather became scorch and scarce and they became easy frightened and irritated with a increase in appetite , drink and urine. DGH capsule can improve these abnormal changes by reducing the appetites and urine, keeping the weight stable and renewing feather. 3. the GK rats had a increase in blood glucose 1. 5-2 times than normal rat. DGH capsule can regulate GK rats blood glucose in certain extent.Conclusion:1. DGH capsule can protect retina function of GK rats. 2. DGH can improve GK rats common living state. 3. DGH can regulate GK rats blood glucose in certain extent.
