Objective: To build the experimental animal model of Blood stasis and stagnation of Qi in type 2 diabetes mellitus, in order to regularize and standardize the TCM animal model of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: 60 mice were randomly dividedinto three groups: normal control group, diabetes mellitus blank group and Blood stasis and stagnation of Qi group (built by Traditional Chinese herb Huanglian, Shigao and Baimaogen). Then the model group were treated by Traditional Chinese herb Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang. Results: 1 The triglycerides, cholesterole and low density lipoprotein in model group is obviously higher than that in normal control group and high fat intake group (p < 0. 01). 2 The cortisol level in model group is obviously higher than that in normal control group (p<0.01). 3 FT3 in model group is obviously lower than that in normal control group and diabetes mellitus blank group (p < 0. 01). 4 The insulin level in model group is obviously lower than that in normal control group and diabetes mellitus blank group (p< 0. 01). 5 The thyroxin B2 in model group is obviously higher than that in normal control group and diabetes mellitus blank group (p < 0. 01). 6 The 6-keto prostaglandin1a in model group is obviously lower than that in model group and diabetes mellitus blank group. 7 All the index signs were instaurated in modification group. And there was obviously differences between modification group and model group in triglycerides, cholesterole, thyroxin B2 and 6-keto prostaglandin1a. Conclusion: Traditional Chinese herb Huanglian, Shigao and Baimaogen can be used to built the animal model of Cold-stagnate and Blood stasis and stagnation of Qi in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
