Moxibustion Umbilical Treatment Of Menopausal Syndrome

ObiectTo observe clinical therapeutic effect of moxibustion at the navel on female climacteric syndrome.MethodsCollected one hundred cases of moderate and severe female climacteric syndrome.The time is from Octomber 2002 to Octomber 2004. The years is 40 to 60 , the average age is 52. 3 years old. The longest course of diseases is 10 years, the shortest is 1 month, average is 29 months,etc .According with statistics, the two groups are similar and it shows no different in years, courses, symptoms of illness. It is practical to compare the two groups.The one hundred cases were divided into the treatment group (n=50) treated by moxibustion and the western medicine group (n=50) treat by oral administration of calcium and vitamin, etc .Therapeutic effect were investigated by Kupperman rating methord . Estradiol (E₂) levels of 20 cases from the treatment group and the western medicine group were defected before and after treatment . Rssult①The gross efficacy and the significant efficacy of the treatment group is 96.0% and 80.6%. contrastively, that of the western medicinegroup is 20.0% and 4.0% respectively. According with statistics, there were significant different between the two groups in the effective and the markedly effective rates. The therapy efficacy of the treatment group excelled that of the western medicine group. ?The symptoms of both two groups patients were improved. Especially, in contrast to, the western medicine group show more efficacies in improving symptoms. (3) In the course of treatment, there is no evident bad reactions. ? Moxibustion at the navel could improve E2 levels in female patients of climacteric syndrome.ConclusionMoxibustion at the navel has a better therapeutic effect on female climacteric syndrome.
