The thesis is under the guidance of both clinical theory of Chinese Medicine and diagnostic theory of Western Medicine, by observing and analyzing the symptoms and syndromes of 98 patients diagnosed as Chronic Superficial Gastrities (CSG) in associated with their corresponding gastroscopic signs (as one of the diagnostic method—the inspection of local regions),aim to study and summarize the characteristics of symptoms and syndromes on Chronic Superficial Gastrities(CSG) from the TCM point of view ,in order to investigate and further discuss about the major therapeutic method of Chronic Superficial Gastrities (CSG)------"the major the disease differentiation, the minor the syndrome differentiation", which is one of the subjective point of views hold by some TCM specialists. The paper includes two parts: Literature Review and Clinical Research.Literature Review consists of two articles. The 1st article"The General Researches on CSG in TCM"was discussed about the naming of the disease , etiology, pathogenesis, symptom differentiation, syndrome differentiation, therapeutic methods and specific prescriptions, as well as both Western and Chinese Medicine treatments about CSG . The 2nd article"The Modern Researches on CSG"was concerned about the causes of disease, pathology, classification, gastroscopic signs, pathological diagnosis, and the relative therapy of CSG.Clinical Research includes: 98 patients diagnosed as Chronic Superficial Gastritis (CSG) were observed directly under the gastroscopy, the gastroscopic signs were recorded in detail. The inter-relationship of symptoms differentiation, syndromes differentiation of CSG with the International Sydney System and HP Infection were analyzed in according to the corresponding gastroscopic signs and pathological diagnosis. The result showed that there was no significant difference between TCM symptoms of CSG and HP infection, as well as both deficient and excessive syndromes of CSG showed no significant difference in the gastroscopic signs.Besides, the hyperemia, erosion, ulcer, and haemorrhage on the gastric mucosa of CSG showed by the gastroscopic signs were similar to the signs of some excessive, Yang and heat syndromes in Dermatology, all these indicate the presence of internal accumulation of virulent heat , and are the characteristics of excessive syndromes. According to this general character of the common disease syndromes, we can use the gastroscopic signs as a kind of evidence or proof to explain why some TCM specialists use"the major the disease differentiation, the minor the syndrome differentiation"as the therapeutic method to treat CSG .The research provides a new idea:the therapeutic method of Dermatology can be also used actively to treat CSG. This idea can be considered as the integration with the wholeness and section differentiations, and is practicable and highly recommended in the clinical practice.
