| Osteoporosis(OP) is one kind of disease characterized by low bone mineral density (BMD) and microarchetectural deterioration of bone tissue, leading to enhanced the bone — fragility and a consequent increase in fracture risk. The patients mainly suffer from pain, shortening height, deformation of vertebrae, fracture and breathing obstacle being deformed of body. It is divided into three classificationsrprimary osteoporosis, secondary osteoporosis and extra osteoporosis. The primary osteoporosis is divided into two typesrsenile osteoporosis and postmenopausal osteoporosis. It is a physiological disease. Due to the extension of human life and formation of gerontal society, osteoporosis and osteoporotic complications are causing serious harm to people increasingly. So the extensive attention is paid to the osteoporosis in the world. This experiment will discuss the mechanism and curative effect of JSSQ to ovariectomized female rats osteoporosis.The first part is discussion. In this part we analyze and discuss the gist of JSSQ and effect of every herb composing this prescription, the result of this experimental study, the curative mechanism of JSSQ, the experimental animals and making model and the choice of indices. In the last, we point out some problems of this study and we will do something in the future.The second part is achivement. The diabetes rats were induced by injecting Retinoic Acid into their abdomen successfully, and they were stochastic divided into four groups: diabetic model group (10 rats), JSSQ group, drug group (10 rats), the other 10 normal rats were the normal control group. The respective dosage of drugs was given to the treated groups and the same dose of sodium chloride injection was given to the normal and model series by stomach rearing once per day for eight weeks.The third part is conclusion. In this experiment, we use strict test of indices and scientific statistics. These results show:1 JSSQ can increase significantly gelded rats content of estradiol and calcitonin and bone gla—"protein in serum.3 .Its mechanisms probably are as the following: (1)JSSQ has the function of liking sex — hormone. (2)JSSQ can promote proliferation of osteoblasts and restrain activity of osteoclastsdirectly.The fourth part is study of correlative literature.In this part we summarize the domestic and foreign studies during the latest several years, Osteoporosis is set forth with the theory of contemporary medicine and traditional Chinese medicine respectively.
