| The quality standard of "Xiaoerqingfezhike Effervescent Tablet" supported by The Department of Education of zhejiang Province, was studied. It is based Xiaoerqingfezhike syrup. Radix Scutellariae, the dried roots of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi., based on traditional Chinese medicine is bitter in taste and cold in nature with the actions of eliminating heat and resolving dampness, purging fire and removing toxic materials, and arresting bleeding and calming fetus, and is major for discomfort in the chest, nausea and vomiting in eidemic febrile diseases caused by damp-heat or summer-heat; feeling of stuffiness in the abdomen, acute dysentery or jaundice caused by damp-heat; cough due to heat in the lung; high fever with dire thirst; spitting of blood and epistaxis due to heat in blood; carbuncles and sores; threatened abortion. The herb, one traditional exportation herbal medicine, is utilized not only in simple or complex prescription, but also as major ingredients in manyChinese patent medicines, such as SanhuangPian, Shuanghuanglian oral solution and so on. A lot of research has been done on Radix Scutellariae in a few decades, and over 10 flavonoids, proved to be active ingredients in the herb, have be identified, among which baicalin, baicalein, wogonoside and wogonin exist in higher quantity. It is bitter in taste and cold in nature with the effects of clearing away heat and nourishing the lung, eliminating phlegm and relieving cough, dispersing stagnation and relieving carbuncles and so on, for treatment of cough due to phlegm and heat,scrofula and goiter, sore and ulcer, etc. Bulbus Fritillariae Hupehensis, embodied in Part one in Chinese Pharmacopia and also called as Ebei, Yaobei, Fongbei, has been used for a long time in Hubei and has became the second major used Bulbus Fritillariae goods only inferior to Bulbus Fritillariae Thunbergii. The active components in the herb are mainly alkaloids. Additionally, P-sitosterol and adenosine exist in higher content.
