Moxibustion is one of the oldest techniques among many within. Traditional Chinese Medicine. This technique had a great development during the Ming Dynasty where moxa sticks were used for the first time in history. During the Qing Dynasty new methods of moxibustion such as Lei Huo Shen Zhen and Tai Yi Shen 2hen. In spite of the importance of this technique, it has been increasingly not used in clinical practice.In this work, we have experimented with the application of a type of therapy developed from Qing Dynasty technique - Tai Yi. Shen Zhen by the Chief of Acupuncture Department of Nanjing Qinghui TCM Hospital.. This particular techniques integrates Moxibustion, movements of tuina and herbs that promote the flow of blood and qi and is used for the treatment of lumbar disk hernia.This study primarily focuses on the following two issues:1) Promote an effective therapy for lumbar disk hernia that in short term can have significant results, and is widely accepted by patients, especially those patients from western countries who are still afraid of acupuncture.2) Does a conoarative study between Motion Moxibustion and thecombination of acupuncture, infrared lamp and cupping in the treatment of lumbar disk hernia. In the group treated with motion moxibustion, 35 patients have been treated with success in the two of the four syndromes studied.The qualities of this new therapy, allow it to be widely accepted by the majority of patients even in western countries where acupuncture is still viewed with skepticism.
