1 This research mainly concerns with the processing procedures, quantitative standard and stability of Dryopteris Crassirhizoma. The goal is to make the herb processing standard and the quantitative standard scientific. It has been validated that the used processing method is stable, and feasible in manufacture. We anticipate the validity time as two years. And here follows the concrete work.Accept rate the content of plaster yield total phenol and ethanol-soluble extract were used as the index sign to study how to slice Dryopteris Crassirhizoma. And the results showed that the irregular and thick slice have the tallest quantity, which conformed to 2000ed Vol I.To study the processing procedure of carbonic herbs by testing in orthogonal designs, temperature time as well as the stir-frying speed were chosen as the agents of investigation. For the content of the total phenol and dryocrassin have a decreasing trend as the char deepens, they are not suitable to be used as the index signs of evaluation. So referring to pharmacodynamical experimentæ¢'oagulation time(CT), we have screened out the best conditions in processing Dryopteris Crassirhizoma, Combining the above results with the manufacturing requirement, we defined that the temperature was 350*C, the time was 7 minutes and the stir-frying machine should stir-fry 23 times per minute. Verification by 10 batch cuttings from the factory showed that the technology was stable and feasible.An experimental study was carried out on the quantification of"power of fire" and "degree of heating" . A noncontact thermometerin processing procedure was applied to assay "power of fire" forthe first time. And it preliminarily threw light on the relativitybetween "degree of heating" and quantity combining with HPLC.After the quantitative standard was studied, the result indicated that water content of Dryopteris crassirhizoma should be controlled to no more than 12%. Total ash of the raw products and thecharred products should be controlled to no more than 7. 0% and 7. 5%. Acid-insoluble ash of the raw products and the charred products should be controlled to no more than 1. 5% and 1. 3%. Ethanol-soluble extract of the raw products and the charred products should be controlled to no less than 20% and 16%. The heavy metals should be below 10 ppm, and arsenic salt below 1 ppm. The agrochemical can' t be check out. At the same time we have established the method of the assay. The contents of dryocrassin from the raw products and the charred products by HPLC should be controlled to no less than 2. 5% and 1.5%. The contents of total phenol from the raw products and charred products by UV should be controlled to no less than 6% and 8%. The contents of tannin by UV decreased after charring.2 On the foundation of the above researches, regarding antibacterial activity and coagulation time(CT) as the index sign, the herb processed products of Osmunda japonica Woodwardia unigenmata and Dryopteris crassirhizoma were compared. The results showed that these three kinds of medicines all have antibacterial activity, despite their different effects on different germs. They all can shorten the coagulation time, and Woodwardia unigenmata is the strongest, Dryopteris crassirhizoma weaker, Osmunda japonica weakest. Thus we can find out the basis of the clinical use of Osmunda japonica and Woodwardia unigenmata. The results also told us that antibacterial activity of the raw products was obviously stronger than that of the charred products. However, the action of the hem'ostasis of the charred products is significantly stronger than that of the raw products. The research has verified the traditional herb processing theory that the raw products are better than the charred products at expelling worms as well as clearing away heat-toxin, and the charred products better at stopping bleeding .
