Objective To study the recurrence of endometrial polyps (EMP) after operation performed under hysteroscopy(HS) and related factors. Methods 47 cases of EMPs was followed up with TVS at certain time after operation. All cases were confirmed by pathologies. Results The average time of follow-up was 18.1 months. There were 7 cases of recurrences among 47 cases. The recurrence rate was 14.89 %. 4 cases(10.26%) were recurred among 39 cases of TCRPs. 2 cases were recurred at 12 months and 2 at about 18 months after operation. 3 cases(37.5%) were recurred among 8 cases of curettages controlled by HS. Two of them were recurred before 3 months after operation and one after 12 months(P>0.05). The recurrence rate in group with medroxyprogestrone acetate (MPA) therapy after operation and that in groupwith no medical therapy was 12.5%, 15.38% respectively(P>0.05).The following factors was ana-lyzed by Cox regression: age, BMI, size and number of EMP, concomitented with hyperplasia and uterine leiomyomas, parity, abortion, operative method, medroxyprogestrone acetate (MPA) therapy after operation. Operative method was the only risk factor related to the recurrence of EMP(OR=4.68). Conclusions Operative method is related to the recurrence of EMP. Compared with curettages controlled by HS, the recurrence rate after TCRP is lower and the recurrent time is later. MPA therapy after operation has no effect on the recurrence of EMP.
