Objective:To observe the curative effect of Jiaweimahuangxixinfuzi decoction to allergic rhinitis and to probe into part of mechanism by which it treats allergic rhinitis.Methods:A model of allergic rhinitis in rats was established by using ovalbumin with the hypoderm and nasal antigen challenge. We observe the behavioral variability of rats and Jiaweimahuangxixinfuzi decoction' s effects to their immune function of erythrocytes and the numbers of eosinophilic leucocyte in the blood.Results:Jiaweimahuangxixinfuzi decoction and astemizole can ameliorate the symptoms of rats with allergic rhinitis and can improve RBC-CsbR rosette rate, drop RBC-IC rosette rate and drop the numbers of eosinophilic leucocyte in the blood. By compared with the groups of models using astemizole, there are remarkable differences.Conclusion:Jiaweimahuangxixinfuzi decoction can cure allergic rhinitis. One of the therapy mechanisms is likely connected with the decreased numbers of eosinophilic leucocyte caused by improved immune function of erythrocytes directly or indirectly. It excels astemizole in the aspect of influence on immune function of erythrocytes and eosinophilic leucocyte of allergic rhinitis.
