However, AIDS has almost spread all over the world. The 21. 8 million persons have been deprived of life by AIDS on globe. Nowadays 38 million infect HIV, among of them , there are 95% in developing countries, and increasing year by year, there are 5.5 million new infectors in 2000. It is estimated that there are 15 thousand new infectors everyday, AIDS has been partly reasons of a-dult death in some areas.Since 1985 the first AIDS has been found in our country, it is reported there is 28113 HIV to September 2001, among them there has been 1208 AIDS, 641 death. It is estimated by professors actual HIV has passed 600 thousand. The development of epidemic situation is increasing speedly. Compared with the corresponding period last year, new infectors has been increasing 67. 4%. Number of incidence and death is also greatly increasing. Up to 2010, HIV would reach 10 million if infectors were increasing by 30% every year.The first HIV infected case was discovered in 1991 in Liaoning province. Then the first HIV infected case among the people back from foreign country was discovered in 1993. Furthermore, the first AIDS patient was discovered in 1994. From then, the amount of the infected cases has been increasing year by year. Until 2000, there has been 147 HIV/AIDS cases, and among them, there has been 19 AIDS.The transmission and epidemic process of the AIDS begin with the high - risk population, and then, the AIDS spreads among the ordinary people. The so - called high - risk population is mainly about the drug user, the prostitute and the gay, etc. Because they are lack of the prevention knowledge about the AIDS, for example, the lack of knowledge on their route of transmission and self - protection , it must lead to the spread of the AIDS. Today, because there are not operative vaccine of the AIDS and treatment, the key to control the AIDS is to carry out the effective intervention measures to change the dangerous behavior.Our study is investigation and propagation education of prevention knowledge on AIDS in 10 reformatories in Liaoning province. We research how to carry out the operative intervention work about the AIDS in the east - north area, so that we can provide the scientific basis a-bout how to prevent and control the AIDS effectively.Objects and measuresInvestigation objects are 1000 persons of 10 reformatories in Liaoning province.Use the combined means of the cross - sectional study, the follow study and the sensitive investigation. We take method of knowing and agreement for questionnaire investigation. We use the pattern of Waner for the sensitive question. Analyze the mastering of the knowledge, attitude and behavior of AIDS and the change before and after the propagation education by SPSS and Epi Info6. 02.Result1. The general information: there are 2000 questionnaires before and after propagation education and there are 1734 questionnaire was got back. Among them, there are 916 firstly and 818 secondly, account for 89. 3% . The age of the investigated is mainly from 20 to 40, account for 80.6%. The sex is mainly male; the sexual ratio is 2.5: 1. The urban is more than the rural, which accounts for the 55.4%. The married is 37.7% , the unmarried is 41. 6% and the devoiced is 20.1% . There are 51. 6% junior school students.2. The result of the AIDS prevention and control knowledge questionnaires: the investigated know a little about the AIDS. Generally, they can answer what is the AIDS and its route of transmission correctly, but the correct answering rate of other questions is lower.
