Sti571 In The Treatment Of Accelerated Phase, Blast Phase Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

Object To study the effect and toxicities of ST1571 in Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML),accelerated phase and brist crisis and to study the mechanisms of drug resistance to STI-571. Methods Six patients who had been diagnosed as CML(2 were in accelerated phase, 4 were in brist crisis) were treated with STI-571.Laboratory test were examined regularly:peripheral blood routin weekly, liver and renal function test every two weeks,bone marrow morphology examined monthly,cytogenetic analysis every 2 ~ 4months.All adverse effects were written down. Results two have been achieved complete haematologic remission,two in haematologic remission,two failed and one patient returned from accelerated phase to chronic phase.Two patients achieved major cytogenetic remission, All adverse effects were well tolerated. Conclusion STI571 isan effective drug in patients with CML who are in accelerated phase and brist crisis.
