Objective To investigate etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and therapeutic methods of recurrent subluxation of patellar in adolescent Methods A retrospective study was carried out, 31 patient suffering from Recurrent Subluxation of patellar in adolescent were recieved treatment from Novumber 1986 to May 2002, Additional, 50 femalenormal adolescent with age of 15-18 years were selected as control, In both the control subject and the patients, a detailed history was recorded and a completely physical examination was done. they were examined using roentgenograms of the patellofemoral jiont, as well as computed tomography scans that were made with the knee in 20 degrees of flexion; computed tomography scans measurement of the lateral patellofemoral angle (LPAX the sulcus angle (SA) and the congruence angle (CA) were evaluated in two groups; Results ( 1) In the computed tomography scans imagings, comparing the average of the sulcus angle, the difference was not statistically significant (t=0.77 p>0.05 ) ; comparing the average of the lateral patellofemoral angle, the difference was statistically significant (t=20.78 p<0.05); comparing the average of the congruence angle, the difference was statistically significant (t=30.62 p<0.05); (2 ) Although the methods of the operation was different, according to the Insall' s scale,67.4% (21 cases) of the patients were excellent result, 19.4% (6 cases) good subjectively while 6.5% (2 cases) fair and 6.5% (2 cases) poor. Conclusion (1) the etiology of recurrent subluxation of patellar in adolescent was connected with the anatomical factors . (2) recurrent subluxation of patellar in adolescent was occurred when the power of the patelle received was lost balance? (3) the recurrent subluxation of patellar in adolescent has obviously clinical character. (4) the computed tomography scans that were made with the knee in 20 degrees of flexion was important means while diagnosing the recurrent subluxation of patellar . (5) the center of treatment was certified the unbalance o Because of the anatomical difference in every patient, different patient choice different operation was correct principle .
