Internet-based Home Remote Ecg Monitoring System,

Telemedicine is producing a great impact in the monitoring of patients located in remote non-clinical environments such as homes, elder communities, gymnasiums, schools, remote military bases, ships and the like. As part of Internet growing trend, this paper discusses a system for remote electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring based on Internet real-time data transmit and visualization over WEB.The system is composed of five units: Portable ECG data acquisition, Wireless communicator, Linux based home network gateway, WEB based patients' information center, ECG monitor software.Portable ECG data acquisition has the functions of ECG signal amplification and pre-data processing. In which low power consuming, high accuracy, high integration and anti-interference play a great role in the design.Wireless communicator module STR-6, based of CC1000 smart chip, has the characteristic of high reliability, Using the public frequency, it transmit ECG data from ECG data acquisition to network gateway.Home network gateway is an interface between home network and Internet, which can be extended to connect other home health care monitor system than ECG monitor. uCLinux run on this unit as operator system.WEB based patients' information center run on public WEB station. It takes care of the normal patients information, including current IP address and other inform.ECG monitor software provides a friendly user interface, and handles the visual display, events alarm, and other data relative processing of ECG.
