Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarurn is frequently used in Traditional Chinese Medicine practices, which can warm the kidney, expel the wind, dissipate the cold, drive the qi and alleviate the pain, it's applicable of abdomen distension, vomit and cold in stomach. The research of modern pharmacology indicates, Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarurn has therapeutic effects in gastric ulcer, diarrhea, it can regulate the motion of gastric smooth muscle and cholecyst, act as anti-coagulant, anti-thrombosis, anti-hyposia, anti-oxidation, anti-inflation and anodyne. GLJ is extracted from Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum by CO2 SFE, which is a kind of controllable extraction with high efficient, compared to traditional extraction technology. The effects of anodyne and anticonvulsant of GLJ is proved by experiment, further research of its mechanism is under processing. We discuss the effects of GLJ about depressing the spasmodic ileum by experiments on isolated apparatus or holistic animal, in order to learn the mechanism and offer the data to exploiting and researching the new preparation.1 The action of GLJ on the intestinal smooth muscle of holistic animal.1.1 Observe the action of GLJ on normal intestinal propulsion of NIH rats and sthenic intestinal propulsion due to Neostigmine. The results of experiment indicate, 50mg/kg^ 100mg/kg> 200mg/kg GLJ have no influence on normal intestinal propulsion of NIH rats, but restrain the sthenic intestinal propulsion due to Neostigmine,1.2 Observe the action of GLJ on hanging ileum of anesthetic New Zealand rabbits. The results of experiment indicate, 1 OOmg/kg GLJ have no notable influence on normal or sthenic ileum of anesthetic rabbits.1.3 Observe the action of GLJ on the sthenic vermiculation of ileum of SD rats due to Neostigmine, using the pressure sensor attached to the ileum. The results indicate, 1 OOmg/kg GLJ restrain the sthenic vermiculation of ileum of SD rats notably.2 The action of GLJ on isolated ileum or jejunum and the research of its mechanism.2.1 GLJ depresses the normal contraction of jejunum of rabbits, the depression increase as the dosage increase.2.2 The depression of GLJ on spasmodic muscle of ileum due to Acetylcholine. The depression of GLJ on spasmodic muscle of ileum due to Acetylcholineincreases as the dosage increases. The depression of 0.013mg/ml and 0.065mg/ml GLJ on the spasmodic muscle of ileum is equal to 1.9X 10^8mol/L and 9.5 X 10 8mol/LAtropine.GLJ depresses the spasm of isolated rabbit jejunum due to 17umol/L Neostigmine, and the same concentration of Neostigmine cannot decrease the depression on the jejunum caused by GLJ.GLJ can move right the Effect-dose curve according to adding the Acetylcholine cumulatively, and reduce the peak action of the samples, 0.052mg/ml GLJ reduce more than 0.013mg/ml GLJ. To the other words, Atropine cooperates GLJ in the action described above.2.3 The dose of GLJ above 0.039mg/ml depresses the spasm of isolated rabbit jejunum due to BaC^ notably, the dosage of GLJ below 0.026mg/ml impose no action on it.2.4 The action on isolated ileum of Guinea pig agitated by Histamine. 0.052mg/ml GLJ restrains the isolated ileum of Guinea pig agitated by 7.8X10~4mol/L Histamine, the action of 0.013mg/ml GLJ is not evident.GLJ can move right the Effect-dose curve according to adding the Histamine cumulatively, and reduce the peak action of the samples, 0.052mg/ml GLJ reduce more than 0.013mg/ml GLJ.2.5 Both doses of GLJ restrain the isolated rabbit jejunum incubated by Phenol.2.6 GLJ restrains the contraction of isolated rabbit jejunum incubated without Ca2+ due to CaCl2, furthermore, 0.1-1 tnol/L CaCb impose no action on isolated rabbit jejunum incubated by GLJ.3 ConclusionThe restraining action according to the dosage of GLJ on smooth muscle of intestine maybe related to the non-emulous antagonism of Muscarinic receptor, Histamine receptor, PDC, and have no relationship with a -Adrenoceptor, the GLJ above certain dosage relax the smooth muscle directly.
