DR is one of severity complications of diabetic mellitus and the grade of DR in one eye is usually similar to the other one in the same patient. But there exists ADR for different ocular and other unknown factors. In order to discuss the cause of ADR, We reviewed many documents about ocular and systemic factors in the incidence and progression of DR and discussed the association of traditional Chinese medicine differential types of symptoms and signs and ocular factors with ADR.Part ILiterature ResearchWe have reviewed the literature on ADR and summarized the ocular factors in the incidence and progression of DR. discussed ADR's ocular physiological mechanism and clinical significance.Part IIClinic ResearchObjective:To investigate the association of TCM differential types of symptoms and signs and ocular factors with ADR, to discuss the physiological mechanism of the incidence and progression of DR and to obtain implications for perfect treatments. Methods: 137 cases were sorted tnh) three TCM differential types of QiYinLiangXu. YinXuNeiRe, YinYangLiangXu and ADR were selected. Ocular factors (Includedincomplete vitreous detachment, complete vitreous detachment . myopic anisometropia, retinal vein occlusion . chorioretinal scarring or retinal pigment epithelial atrophy, optic atrophy. asteroid hyalosis, cataract surgery, laser treatment on fundus) were analyzed.
