AbstractObjective:To observe the effect of Tonifying spleen-yang's prescription on learning ability, the faculty of memory, MAO-B, MDA, GR, SOD in blood, and the structure of hippocampi of modled rats weth amen tia.Methods:The animal model was established in composite factors, with injecting scopolamine into subcutaneous part of nuchal region of rat, to block the cholinergic receptor.Results:There were some significant improvements in learning ability and the faculty of memory of rats, the activity of MAO-B was reduced, and the content levels of GR and SOD were increased.Conclusion:The deficiency of spleen-stomach was one of the basic mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Tonifying spleen-yang's prescription was an effectual medicine to prevent and cure AD, the prescription had significant effects in improving the ability of learning ability and faculty of memory, adjusting the balance of oxidation and antioxidation, inhibiting the activity of MAO-B, preventing the denaturation and ageing of cranial nerve cell.
