Disease Hospital Case Medical Quality Comprehensive Evaluation Method

Evaluation on Quality of Medical Care-EQMC, is the objective assessment of medical outcomes and service. EQMC is quite complicated because: 1. the elements of Quality of Medical Care (QMC) are diversified, which included diagnosis quality, length of stay, curative outcomes, injury to patients and defects during the treatment and care, medical costs, satisfaction of medical service and other features. 2. the disease types and patients?condition are various. The disease map is always changing, and people with different social statues ,ages, occupations and sex may have different types of disease. 3. the influential elements such as medical technology, the basic supporting system of medical care, and management status are multi- stratification. The QMC Comprehensive Evaluation Model of Disease Type and Case (QMCCEM-DTC) was developed based on system management thought and principle of health economy and engineering. According to the diversification of QMC elements, the variety of medical service object, the medical care outcomes was considered as a state of three-dimension space of time, substance and information, respectively represent length of stay, medical care costs, curative outcomes and defects during the treatment and care. The QMC Comprehensive Evaluation Model was constructed by selecting length of stay; medical care costs, curative outcomes and defects during the treatment and care as the four markers, and using disease types and cases as the evaluation objects. A total year datas of 2690 disease types and 26472 cases from October. 1999 to September 2000 in a hospital were selected as evidence to conduct the Verification of the model, a satisfying result was achieved.
