Professor Zhang Lan On The Treatment Of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Experience

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is one of the most common complications of diabetes. The etiology and pathogenesis about this disease is still uncertain, current western medicine major academic point of view is capillary pathological changes theory, metabolism and biochemical exception doctrine, vitamin deficiency theory,and adopt comprehensive treatment measures to treat DPN. The basic pathogenesis of DPN in traditional Chinese medicine is widely considered blood block and context impassability, therefore in the healing process, the method of promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis is usually used on the basis of tonifying qi and yin . Winding disease is the pathological status that exists widely in many complicated internal miscellaneous diseases and pathogenic severe. My teacher ZhangLan professor thinks that the DPN should be classified to "winding disease" category, and thingks that the blood stasis and winding loss is the pathogenesis key of DPN ,and promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis, dredging method is the fundamental principle of DPN. Starting with the winding theory , combining with disease pathogenesis of DPN and winding clinical characteristics,this paper intends to summarize the experience of my teacher in treating DPN by the winding disease theory,in order to have a help to clinical work.
