Objective:To observe the clinical curative effectiveness and the experience summarizes of method which the seton with contra-aperture drainage therapy used by Professor for treating complex high position anal fistula .Method: Select 51 patients who got complex high anal fistula from the third hospital attached Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between March and September 2010, male 39, female 12, the youngest is 23 ,the oldest is 65. Their courses of disease are between 3 months and 7 years. To treat them by the seton with contra-aperture drainage therapy , gave them anti-infection, the traditional Chinese medicine named Xiaofan Powder fumigation, antisepsis and home-made traditional Chinese ointment to the wound after the operation.Results: There are 50 patients have been fully recovered in this group, effectiveness is 1, invalid is 0, and the total effectiveness is 100%. The treatment course is from 24--32 days, and the bungee has fallen off in the 7th to 12th days after the operation. All of the patients'anuses can control well sparse excrement, fluid and gas. Anorectal pressure had little difference compared to the pressure before surgery. After 4—6 months, All of the patients had no relapse, anal shift and incontinence. Two patients had little discomfort but it gradually disappeared with scar softening after 3 months.Conclusions:For the complex high position anal fistula the seton with contra-aperture drainage therapy can avoid the removal of large areas of perianal tissue, reduce scar formation, then avoid anal shift, protect the normal anatomy of the anus, maintain the shape of the anus and the nomal function of the original. So it is worth to popularized this therapy in the clinical practice.
