Background:Communication skills is one of medical students ability. At present, there are few evaluation studies of clinical communication skills of undergraduates in our country:the evaluation method is simple; questionnaire evaluation is more common than scale evaluation and interviews. It is difficult to find out the undergraduates'clinical communication skills deeply.Objective:In this study, the content of clinical communication skills of the most basic requirements of global medical education and Chinese medicine basic requirements of undergraduate as the basic, CIPP evaluation model as the theoretical framework for clinical communication skills, from context, input, process product, carry out the evaluation of the teaching of undergraduates'communication skills and the evaluation of undergraduates'clinical communication skills of Kunming Medical College. Meanwhile, provide a reference to improve the clinical teaching and training in communication skills.Methods:Based on the "Eleventh Five-Year" planning issues of the National Association of Higher Education, reviewed of research papers of undergraduates' clinical communication skills training and evaluation in and abroad, carry out context evaluation through analysis of the literature. Carry out input evaluation and process evaluation through the personal in-depth interview. Develop clinical communication skills evaluation scale through expert consultation. With 360-degree evaluation method and observation, assess clinical communication skills of 60 interns of the First Affiliated Hospital and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical College, analyze the shortage of clinical communication skills of undergraduates, and carry out suggested comments and suggestions of the reform of clinical communication for the Kunming Medical College.Conclusion:Based on the core content of CIPP evaluation model, the results show that the teaching objective of clinical communication is imperfect, the teaching methods are simple, the content of teaching is focusing on clinical communication theory only. The ability of the clinical communicate skill of undergraduates in our school is ordinary. Their attitude was good in the process of clinical communication. Their communication content focused on disease only. Their communication skills were unskilled. Their attention and understanding of the patient were not enough. Their ability of communication controlling was not strong. This study demonstrates that in the evaluation method and evaluation tools are realistic.Suggestion:In the future training of medical students, based on the requirements of clinical communication skills in "Global minimum essential requirements in medical education" and" Chinese undergraduate medical education standards-the major of clinical "in, combine with the actual situation of our school, set the teaching objective of clinical communication, creation the required courses of clinical communication, develop reasonable and effective teaching programs, use a variety of teaching methods, strengthen the building the teacher team, establish the evaluation mechanism of clinical communication in teaching of clinical communication skills.
