In this paper, the Great Plague in London in 1665-1666 was considered as the research object, trying to reveal from the perspective of history of disease caused by the Great Plague of London's social problems and social treatment of infectious diseases. The research area belongs to medical history, using a combination of research methods, drawing on social science research methods, such as sociology, psychology, economics, also drawing on related natural science research methods, such as medicine, physiology.Great Plague of London in 1665-1666 did great harm to the society at that time, causing not only the loss of large quantity of population, but also the recession and social unrest. The plague broke out because of the natural factors such as climate, location on the one hand; On the other hand, it was closely related to human factors, such as a large population density, overload environmental carrying capacity, dirty smelly environment and water pollution. London public took various measures to deal with. They followed and improved the experience of previous immunization. In the 17th century's medicine domain, the medicine theory had the further development and had the new discovery, but in response to the plague, effective treatment could not provide. Because no other medical methods were implemented, quarantine measures became the primary means to prevent and treat plague. Awareness of the harm to the plague prompted the Government to strengthen the prevention and treatment of plague. The London municipal authorities actively responded and took the appropriate policy through the development of laws and regulations, including the Shutting up Infected Houses,the order of lord mayor and so on. It was the main measure to make the sick person isolated. This prevention principle was active and effective, and was consistent with the modem precautionary principle.The implement of prevention policy was not smooth, the populace quite had the repugnance and the dispute to it The public were unwilling to implement the prevention policies. With the deterioration of the epidemic, it was difficult to implement. However, the authorities still implemented the prevention policy by closing the theater, rectify the funeral, the establishment of isolation hospitals. A pro-active prevention and treatment of plague prevention and control of communicate diseases had provided important experience, which had an valuable reference.There were many different views on the disappearance reason of the Great Plague of London. Traditional view was the role of fire in London, as well as the views of improved living environment. A lot of people thought that artificial measures were not efficacious against plague. To analyze the prevention policies worked out by the London municipal authorities and the situation of implement, isolation as the main means of preventing the spread of plague prevention and control measures had important and positive role in further promoting the reform of British health and development. It promoted the overall development of public health and had a key role in the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases.
