Aim:With the change of clinical symptoms of type II diabetes mellitus (2-D M), especially the ratio of obesity climbing, the conventional classification method of 2-D M can no longer be seasoned with the current situation. This project aims to built a new classification method of 2-DM, which can better fit in today' s patients.Method:Collected the questionnaires, symptoms, and other laboratory tests results for 95 2-DM patients, and brought them into different groups according to their body mass index (BMI).·Statistically analysis these materials and compare, and build a new classification method for Tradition Chinese Medicine.Results:2-DM patients with or without obesity is significantly different in their symptoms like over drinking, over eating and over ruining and less body weight. These "three over and one less"'sign did not appear very much h in obesity patients, but frequently showed in patients with normal body shape. Among the 76 patients with "three over and one less" sign, sputum and humid are two elements frequently appear. Sputum and heat blocking the middle were 89.5%, sputum and humid were 9.2%. Among the patients without obesity, deficiency in Yin was 78.9%, and deficiency in Qi and Yin were 10.5%. To sum up, patients with obesity always share the common ground of sputum and heat while patients without obesity always had a deficiency in Yin.
