The Research Of Supplier Evaluation Based Upon Data Envelopment Analysis Model

With the rapidly growing global competition, the stock management is regarded much more important than before by manufactures, and the model of scientific management is very important for the survival and development of the enterprises. As the competition circumstance changed, enterprises'competition has been replaced by the competition of supply chains. Supplier as the headstream of supply chain, and its evaluation is not only an important tache in supply chain management, but also a base for the cooperation of supply chain. The cooperation of supply chain has risk because of the complicacy and otherness of the organizations. Setting up a scientific supplier evaluation system can help the manufactures avoid subsistent and potential risk. So the research of supplier evaluation is very important.This paper summarizes the research fruit of international supplier's evaluation, and then systematically analyzes the supplier evaluation. The first part in this paper is the basic evaluation theory of supplier. Here we introduce the basic theory of supply chain management and supplier evaluation, then divide the content of supplier evaluation into three parts: supplier economical performance, cooperation stability and social performance. In the second part, we introduce the main supplier evaluation methods, and analyze the defect of supplier evaluation methods, then adopt DEA model as a method evaluating supplier's comprehensive efficient. This method is more impersonal and scientific than other methods, because it doesn't include artifical factor, and it is easy for computing. Since using DEA model to evaluate DMUs, there maybe appear several DMUs which are efficient at the same time, so we add a dummy perfect DMU based on efficient DMUs according to DEA basic theory, in this way, we can evaluate the efficient DMUs. In the third part, we analyze the existent evaluation index system according to the defect of it, and consider the need what enterprise want from the cooperative partnership suppliers under supply chain management, setting up a input and output evaluation index system that can reflect supplier's comprehensive efficient. Finally through a case to show that using DEA model evaluates supplier's comprehensive efficient is feasible and scientific.This paper uses DEA model to evaluate suppliers according to input and output evaluation index system which can reflect supplier's comprehensive efficient, so it can make the final evaluation result is more impersonal and scientific, I hope it can bring some help and advice when enterprises evaluate and choose their cooperative partnership suppliers.
