But this kind of economy is unsustainable, featuring by low scientific and technichical elements, high coast and serious enviroment pollution. Facing the chanllenge of developing high efficiency, energy-saving, environmental protection, high technology industry, many traditional industries are caught in an unprecedented predicament. It is the key point to use the hi-tech transform traditional industries to make our traditional industries to acquire new development power and market space. Using the gene technology and cell technology as the core, modern biological technology, being called the era of green technology for its low-energy consumption, environmental-protection and sustainability, meet the development demand of our time. While the "genetic reorganization plan" Has benn put into practice and cloning technology continues to mature, modern biotechnology have been widely applied to the fields of energy, agriculture and madicine, ect. Having energy, brewing, agriculture, medicine as its pillar industries, Shanxi province owns congenital conditions to aplliy modern biological technology.
