Study On Convergence Of Modern Agriculture And Services Industry Based On The Practical Analysis Of Zhejiang Province

Driven by the economic globalization and the information technology, the modern agricultural service industry’s role and status will be steadily on the increase in the modern agricultural economy. Since modern science technology improves continually and traditional agriculture declines gradually, a new type of modern agriculture is rising progressively and the agricultural services industry has undergone a qualitative change. The new ideas and fresh operative modes from modern service industry have been gradually infiltrated and applied to agriculture. Agricultural services, which supply the pesticide, seed, fertilizer and other agricultural production for farmers, have become modern agriculture services based on new ideas and methods. Mutual integration, overlapping and interwoven between modern agriculture and service industries have broken the division boundaries of primary, secondary and tertiary industry and formed a new work division chain and industry form, which have a profound impact on the development of modern agriculture. In this context, the author focuses on the study of the integration between modern agriculture and service industry and the research about basic integration rules for them, and discusses the development trends and modes for them.This study described the meaning and features of modern agriculture and services industry as well as the relationship between them firstly. Then based on the reviews of integration development of modern agriculture and services industry, this study explored the integration development of industries by classical growth theory, Rostow economic development stage theory, modern economic growth and structural change theory, deindustrialization theory, labor division theory, industrial cluster theory and so on. After that, this study set up theory frame and development patterns of modern agriculture and services industry and then investigated empirically integration development relationship of modern agriculture and services industry in Zhejiang province and the spillover effect of modern services industry to modern agriculture and integration development patterns between them. It was found that services industry development in Zhejiang province could promote the growth of modern agriculture while the latter did not promote the former evidently. When the output value of services industry in Zhejiang province increased by one percent; the production value of agriculture industry rose by0.4038percent. Fourthly, it was found that characteristic industries development, culture linkage, vertical and horizontal integration of agricultural and services industries were the main patterns of modern agriculture and services industry development in Zhejiang province. Fifthly, the study analyzed the impact of modern agriculture logistics, agricultural science, and creative leisure tourism, information, finance and insurance on modern agricultural development in Zhejiang province. After that, the path and influence mechanism of those various kinds of services industries on modern agriculture was summarized. Finally, on the basis of the above analysis, some policies were proposed including deepening the agricultural management system reform, enhancing modern agricultural logistics service, improving agricultural information service, promoting the development of agricultural creative leisure tourism, strengthening scientific and technical innovation and human capital support, boosting policy agricultural insurance and so on.The innovation points of this paper as follows:The author analyzes modern agriculture and modern service industry from the perspective of industry integration, and creates development category and broadens analysis framework for the integration of modern agriculture and modern service industry with a new vision.The author applies a spillover effect and regression analysis for the first time to analyze the spillover effect of agricultural department and inspection of agricultural economic growth with the modern service industry. By applying qualitative analytical methods such as Granger causality test and SWOT, the paper systematically studies the integration of the primary and tertiary industry and practical problems of the integration, and demonstrates the causes, effects and mutual relationship that are related to the integration of the modern agriculture and modern service industry. And the author tells us what modern service industry can do to promote development of modern agriculture and put forward suggestions and countermeasures for the industry integration.After systematically studying problems, causes, and patterns of agricultural service industry and modern agriculture integration which based on a case study of Zhejiang, this paper summarizes the integration between the modern agriculture and modern service industry as "Zhejiang model".
