Modern commercial activities have been emancipated from mere prohibition in China ever since the Open Policy was adopted. Today, these commercial activities have been endorsed, recognized, and highlighted. As a result, the attached business ethics has been subject to these externalities and thus has extended its borderline to include more and more gray areas, the areas which have been intentionally ignored. Toady, although China has been one of the most important pillars in the world economics, the disturbing fact still exists that the quantity is not an alias for quality. To take a closer look at the quality of the commerciality, we need to take a retrospective view to scrutinize the origin and the development of Chinese commercial value and business ethics, in order to re-establish Confucius way of Chinese business ethics. In the evaluation of current Chinese business ethical environment, there is a dilemma:on one hand, Western's view that "business has no whatsoever relationship with ethics" is losing its forces and on the other hand, our country began to focus on "social responsibility on business entity." Despite the fact that this focus has been commented heavily by the general public, what actually this focus would lead us to has been questioned by more and more Enron-Anderson-like scandals. In determining a proper route to pursue for the ethics focus to manifest itself more efficiently, this essay discusses necessity, possibility and practicality of how to construct the basic infrastructure of the business ethics in China to meet the demand and pressure of current Chinese development trend.
