Chinese Rural Family Structure Change On Agricultural Production

Since the reform and opening up,with urban gravity and rural thrust dual role, many farmers,especially young adults with relatively high cultural quality, pour into the city, coupled with the continued implementation of population policies and the transformation of ideas and other factors,the scale of rural family structure,intergenerational relations,and economic performance and other dimensions of family have profound changes: disintegration of the traditional family with more children, low birth rate of the nuclear family, stem family occupy the leading,empty nest,grandparents families gradually increased;household income and expenditure are in a stable upgrade,but the expenditure exceeded revenue. This had a profound and complex effects on agricultural production.The first part introduces the basic research background,using the method of literature review of family structure and agricultural production, previous research on family structure mostly from sociology, demography of the study, researches on agricultural production inputs based on physical,technical progress, and institutional change. This paper from economics point of view, attempts to analysis family structure change affect on agricultural production.The second part defines the famers,family and family structure,especially defines Chunnong Hu, families of migrant workers and Jianyehu.From a macro perspective of the size of rural family structure and intergenerational changes, population policy, labor mobility and other reasons, contribute to changes of our family structure in rural areas.The third part analyzes rural family structure changes'negative and positive impact on agricultural production.Negative impact: weak structure of agricultural labor force, land abandonment, farmers do not want to put into agricultural production.Positive impact: raise capital for labor substitution effect, promote the mechanization and the promotion of land system and agricultural production innovation. Then effects on agricultural production brought by changes in three kind family structure were compared: Chunnong Hu and migrant workers families in agricultural production target a single goal, while Jianyehu has more diversified agricultural production goals. Chun Nonghu agricultural production time more than Jianyehu and migrant workers families.Non-employment income of Jianyehu and migrant workers families has great impact on capital investment in agricultural production (including unit area of agricultural machinery rental fees, investment and agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, seeds, inputs), technical progress and land transfers.The fourth part built an econometric model regression analysis to verify the total power of agricultural machinery, chemical fertilizer, labor input and human capital investment and the relationship between agricultural output value, that of capital in agricultural production, the existence of the substitution effect on labor and labor migration have a positive impact on agricultural production.The fifth part formulate policy recommendations of developing agricultural production for different farmer families, that by increasing farm income, increased investment in human capital, construct human capital development system, improve the proportion of secondary and tertiary industries in rural areas and innovative land system to avoid negative impact that changing family structure brought on the agricultural production.Agricultural research is not only an economic problem, but a major practical problem matters stability of the state's. Analyzing positive and negative effects on agricultural production brought by changes in family structure in rural areas from the economic point of view and putting forward policy recommendations is a brave attempt.
