Oil knowns as "the blood industry," "black gold", indicates the vital importance for the world economic development and the modern social civilization. Present, China's economy has maintained sustained, healthy and rapid development.With the further expansion of economies of scale, the demand of oil will continue to increase. China's oil industry will participate in the world oil market, and the influence will be greatly enhanced. Therefore, the strength of the international competitiveness of China's oil industry has aroused widespread concern of the society.The Oil industry is composed of the upper, middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain. The oil industry chain of China in various fields has achieved a certain degree of development and progress, already has a certain competitive advantage, but also there are some weak; As the leading chain of the national oil industry, Cnpc, Sinopec and Cnooc have different competitive advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, based on the analysis of Chinese petroleum industry chain and the corresponding suggestion, Chinese oil industry will be better to enhance the competitiveness, formulate industrial policy and develop enterprises within the industry. This is precisely the purpose and significance of topics of this article.This thesis studies the basic characteristics of the oil industry, respectively analyzed the international competition advantages and disadvantage of China's oil industry. Based on the study of China's oil industry chain, the thesis uses the factor analysis of statistical methods and the relevant indicators of oil industry chain to analyze the China's petroleum industry's international competitiveness and thus to explore how to improve the competitiveness of China's oil industry. So it is the innovation of this thesis. This thesis refers to large amounts of data for analysis, backed up by charts. There have also been some innovative attempts in the use of a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
