Based On Ekc's Yunnan Province, Economic Growth And Environmental Quality Changes Between

This paper studies the relationship between environmental pollution and economical growth in Yunnan province based on the Environment Kuznets Curve. Yunnan's economical coordinated development plays an active role for advancing the strategy of developing the western region and building a socialist harmonious society. So coordinating the the relationship between the economy and the development is significant.This paper firstly analyzes the relation between the economy and the environment, then introduces the Environment Kuznets Curve, finally this paper empirically examines Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) with time series data from 1990 to 2007 and provides a basis for the environmental policy evaluation of Yannan. In this stage, the paper currents the situation of environment and economic growth in Yunnan, choose the water consumption, the energy consumption, the water pollution emissions, the air pollution and the solid reject as the indexes, analyzed the dynamic changes of the environmental indexes and GDP per peolple, and based on the fact and the above result, the paper put forwords some policy suggestions over the continuous development of environmental and economy.This paper comes to the following conclution:Firstly, the water consumption, the energy consumption and the industrial waste gas rise with the economic growth. This shows the water consumption, the energy consumption and the industiral waste gas emission level is at the ascent stage of the Environment Kuznets Curve; the SO₂ emission descends only in 2007, this does't show the apparent downward trend, so the SO₂ emission level is at the downward phase of the Environment Kuznets Curve.Secondly, the Environment Kuznets Curve of the total wastewater shows the inclined "N" shape under the dual role of indusrial wastewater and life wastewater. The total wastewater emission is not contrlled, and the Environment Kuznets Curve is at the ascent stage.Thirdly, the Environment Kuznets Curve of the total COD is at the downward stage under the dual role of indusrial COD and life COD. The Environment Kuznets Curve of the solid reject emission and the dust are located at the downward stage.Fourthly, life water pollution occupies the majority in Yunnan. Industiral water pollution occupies the small part relatively. So expanding the city infrastructural acilities is very important to improving the water environment.
