The research of tourism competitiveness is the front field of modern tourism. The foreign scholars didn't do the research of tourism competitiveness until the eighties of twentieth century. In 1996, our country's scholars began do this kind research. With the development of tourism, the research of regional tourism competitiveness has been paid more and more attention by recent years. However, the research of regional tourism competitiveness is at the primary stage and needs further development. Nowadays, the inequality of tourism development and the differences of tourism competitiveness between regional areas are great.In order to solve the problem, this paper consults many references of tourism competitiveness at first, and then applies basic theories of economics and tourism to probe the influence factors of regional tourism competitiveness. Besides, the paper utilizes the theories of competitive advantage of Porter and the tourism system theory to put forward the concept model of the influence factors of regional tourism competitiveness. The concept model concludes five influence factors, regional tourism resources, tourism supporting factors, regional tourism management, regional condition and tourism demand condition. This concept model also supposes that each of the five factors have positive affection to regional tourism competitiveness. According to these supposes the paper does an empirical study of "the tourism area of west region of Hunan province" and builds the regional tourism competitiveness model. Then the paper explains how these factors affect each other and brings forward some suggestions to improve this regional tourism competitiveness, which have guide effects of the sustainable development of this regional tourism.
