Study On Contractor Cost Claims Analysis Of Construction Project

Construction claims is an important measure to protect interests of contractors in construction projects, and also is the core component of project contract management. The concept of claims entered China at mid-80's, then construction claim has been getting increasing attention from engineering.This paper is divided in several parts, just as follows:In the first part, three basic criteria of contractor claims are given, to classify evens which will cause contractor's loss. Then an analysis of interference based on the claims terms of the contract is made to determine whether the claims will succeed or not.In the second part, an analytical model, the cost claims decision model for contractors, based on game theory, is developed to study construction claims. This model explains how people behave during a potential or existing claiming situation.The third part shows how this model is used in a hydropower engineering project.
