Investment in Chinese hospital field is becoming hotter and hotter when Chinese government looses the restrictions on investing hospitals and improves the protection for investors including international and state investors through launching new laws and regulations. Why do we invest? What's the value from the investment? How do we invest? How can we keep the competitive advantages longer and longer? For answering these questions, international investment groups including C company, who are interested in investing Chinese hospitals, are all studying Chinese laws and regulations about investment and healthcare, investigating Chinese medical market environment, dividing Chinese market into different lever sub-markets and calculating the capacity and benefit from Chinese high lever medical market. The purpose of this article is to help C company find its favorite strategic decision and executive arrangement in China, meanwhile provide some reference guide for other international groups who face the similar strategic issue.With the basic theories of competition analysis and core competency acknowledge, the article shows us a clear picture about competition situation in Chinese medical market and outstands the status and successful opportunities for JV hospitals. According to the analysis, C company has developed its core competency that combines international knowledge and Chinese native experience to develop competitive advantages. Key success factors in JV hospital invested by C company are high-level technology, famous brand and unique service.
