From Discord To Harmony

To western capitalist countries, the relation between government and market is an old dispute. Accordingly, the material available is abundant. But it is still a new problem to China in the period of economic system transition. The transition of economic system refers to the transformation from the system of highly--centralized planned redistribution to that of market-oriented economy which regards market as a basis of resource disposition. In our country, it covers the process of socialist market system from 1978 to a long time later in the near future. China before reformation belonged to an all-round government model in which government occupied an absolutely important position with no market. And accordingly, the relation between government and market does not exist. With reformation carried on deeply, the position of market becomes stronger and stronger, while the position of the government becomes unimportant gradually. Only in this time does the question between market and government come. Especially,"Building a Harmonious Society", as a great strategic goal in the report of the 16th CPC National Congress, which makes the dispute more significant.Theoretical circles at home and abroad study the issue for a long time and make a great success, but there are still many shortcomings. So, this article continues to talk about it. On the one hand, there are many scholars talking about the issue from different angles, however, I study it from the perspective of the"harmonious society system". On the other hand, according to the materials, many scholars focus on studying the relation between the government and the market from the perspective of the economics, which does not reveal the inherent logic among the politics, economics and society. Therefore, I try to make up this defect.It is under this consideration that, with the help of research methods of combining theoretical and practical, comparative analyses, etc, and under the guidance of historical materialism of Marxist and the ideological line of"emancipating our minds, seeking truth from facts, and keeping pace with the times"advocated by our Party, the dissertation discusses the main problems existing in market and government. It also looks deep into what is the idealistic relation in the transitional period and how to avoid the unfavorable factors to achieve the goal.
