| With the development of economic globalization, industries transfer among the countries much quicker than before, and international industries division has been deepened. The auto industry has been disposed in the world, which has been formed as the Global Value Chain (GVC). Multinational corporations make full use of the resources in order to enhance their competition in the world.As the strategic area for the west regions' development, Chongqing is the largest base of auto production and extraction. The development of the auto industry is very important for Chongqing and also the upper reaches of Yangtze River. Precisely under such background, this paper takes Chongqing auto industry as the research object, from the global value chain perspective. Based on the relative theories of regional economics, industrial economics and management science, using the tools of normative analysis, this paper has tried to construct the framework of upgrading of Chongqing auto industry.This paper divides into four part altogether (including eight chapters):Part one, summary the related theory of the Global Value Chain and the industries dispositions for the area. And analyze the researches status of the auto industry's value chain.Part two, based on the theories of the Global Value Chain, analyze the auto industry's dispositions (including research, production, selling) in the world. And make an analysis on the status quo of the auto industry in China.Part three, analyze the auto industry's position and growth potential in Chongqing, focusing on the development of its auto industry from the GVC perspective. Finally, choose a better upgrading path for Chongqing auto industry.Part four, make suggestions from the government, industry, corporation's angle for the development and upgrading of the auto industry in Chongqing. |
