New product development is not only the source of enterprises' competitive advantage, but also the driving force of enterprises' sustainable profit increase. In order to survive and develop in the constantly changing environment in which continuously updating products in the market have formed heated competitions, enterprises must learn to manage all kinds of new challenges rapidly, promote new products timely and seize market opportunities. New product development is a systematic project covering wide aspects with lots of related factors and variables and also with high risks. A wrong judgment could bring a series of negative influence and even obstacles for a project's development, which will finally increase the system's total cost. Therefore, the decision-making on new product development has much to do with the success of new product development.Besides promoting technological development and bringing economic benefits, new product development can also bring changes in resources and environmental conditions. In the long term, the activities of new product development also happen in a dynamic and interactive environment. An important base of modern science's "decision-making" is to lead developers to timely and exactly master all-round inside and outside environmental information in a dynamic and complex process and to make reasonable use of technological intelligence. The author first read many theoretical achievements of relevant researches on fields of information supportive decision-making and decision-making on new product development at home and abroad. Through reading these theoretical achievements, the author finds that most Chinese and foreign scholars are in favor of the argumentation that "Intelligence plays a supportive role by means of information flow in the decision-making of product development", and that they have done many researches on "decision-making intelligence supportive system of product development based on computer technology". Based on these domestic and foreign researches, the author finds that, as a research process including information collection, discrimination, arrangement and utilization, intelligence also plays a supportive role on the decision-making of enterprises' new product development. During each stage of new product development, there are various decision-making problems which need the support of information and intelligence analysis. Therefore, intelligence analysis is supportive in the decision-making during the whole project circle of new product development. However, there are not many empirical studies at home and abroad on the specific model of the correlation, especially foreign studies on this topic. In addition, a few domestic scholars only mention the structure model of decision support and decision supportive system (DSS) for information for new product development. The dissertation analyzes related foreign and domestic research results and summarizes the key decision-making points in manufacturing enterprises' five-stage new product development: concept generation, concept selection, feasibility decision, product design, technology design, design selection, and decision making and promotion of trial production. During the whole process of development, each decision-making is based on the following intelligence analysis methods: information seeking, information evaluation, logic analysis, level of analysis, patent analysis, time series methods, economic effect evaluation, reverse engineering. Based on previous research result, the dissertation constructs the correlation of support between each dependent variable on the latitude of development intelligence analysis method and the decision-making point of new product development; based on related theoretical analysis and case studies, builds the structure model of intelligence analysis's correlation of support for the decision-making of new product development. Afterward, taking the software enterprises of new product development as its study objects and questionnaire survey as its research methodology, the dissertation calculates and analyzes 128 pieces of effective data collected from 32 domestic enterprises in manufacturing industry with the software of SPSS 13.0, and validates the correlation between each variables and the structure model of intelligence analysis' correlation of support for the decision-making of new product development. Finally, based on the result of empirical analysis, combining several problems existing in the research, the author points out the limitations of the study and indicates the expectations and suggestions for future study.
